How Palworld breeding works
Species use breeding power
Every Pal has a hidden breeding power. For a standard cross, the game takes the midpoint of both parents and selects the matching result from its species table.

Unique combinations, variants, and certain gender-dependent crosses take priority over the general formula.
Passive skills are planned separately
Picking valid parents solves the species, but it does not guarantee a passive set. Avoid unwanted passives and consolidate the desired ones onto as few parents as possible.
Palaxis can track species and passive skills through the same tree using your real collection.
Palworld 1.0 breeding: Mutation and new cakes
Mutation
Version 1.0 added a low chance for breeding to produce a stronger Pal with higher stats and a unique passive skill.
Cakes with effects
New cakes can affect stats, egg count, Mutation likelihood, or the inheritance of multiple passive skills.
Reviewed combinations
The breeding table was reviewed for 1.0. Old Early Access routes may now produce a different Pal.

What does a breeding calculator do?
It answers what two parents produce, which parents produce a target, and which chain needs the fewest crosses from the Pals you already own.
Does swapping the parents change the child?
Not for ordinary crosses. Special gender-dependent combinations still require the correct male and female parent.
Why should I add my collection?
A generic route starts from captures. Once Palaxis knows your box, it can reuse available parents and reduce eggs, generations, and captures.
Does the calculator work offline?
Yes. After the first visit, the core data and calculations work in your browser, and your collection stays stored locally.
